Rebuilding a fashion storefront so the team could edit campaigns without a developer ticket

A Shopify 2.0 rebuild focused on product templates, lookbook sections and mobile merchandising — not a visual refresh for its own sake.

Challenge

The live theme had accumulated years of one-off Liquid. Launching a campaign meant a developer, a stash of unused sections, and a mobile product page that hid size information. The brand did not need another moodboard. It needed templates the marketing team could actually operate.

Starting point

Shopify already. App stack mostly reasonable. The constraint was the theme: slow product templates, collection filters fighting the index, and homepage sections that were not reusable.

Strategy

Audit which templates earned money. Replace those first. Introduce Online Store 2.0 sections for campaigns. Keep checkout native. Do not add animation libraries. Document the editor for the people who will live in it.

Implementation

New product and collection templates, variant UX that works with a thumb, lookbook sections with blocks, and a performance pass on images. Apps that injected duplicate scripts were removed or replaced. SEO headings and internal links were part of the theme, not a later ticket.

Results

The merchant can ship landing pages from the theme editor. We do not publish invented speed scores. The qualitative result: fewer emergency theme edits, a product page that states the offer, and a storefront that SEO and CRO can still improve.

See Shopify Store Development if your theme is the bottleneck.
